Chiefs Starlet Returns
Itumeleng Shopane Is Back With Kaizer Chiefs' First Team
Kaizer Chiefs have welcomed Itumeleng Shopane back to first team training after his season-long loan with Cape Town All Stars was cut short.
The 20-year-old made 11 appearances – including six starts – for All Stars during his time down in the Western Cape, however, was unable to get on the scoresheet for them and has now returned to his parent club.
Shopane is playing with the Amakhosi’s Multichoice Diski Challenge team once again and scored against Polokwane City over the weekend during their 2-0 win.
It remains to be seen whether the South African youth international will be given a chance to showcase his abilities at senior level under Steve Komphela, but that will surely be his goal after things didn’t work out as planned in Cape Town.
Meanwhile, as reported yesterday, Kelvin Abara Obasi has stopped training with the Glamour Boys.
