Having initially been linked with the Senegalese midfielder who recently parted ways with the Buccaneers, Polokwane later withdrew its interest in the 31-year-old player, with the club now having decided on signing Monde Mpambaniso from Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC in the National First Division.

“Polokwane City have signed Monde Mpambaniso from TTM. The two clubs have reached an agreement over the services of the player for the new season,” said the source.

Mpambaniso has signed a two-year deal with an option to extend for one more year with the Limpopo outfit, as confirmed by sources in the know.

In their first match of the 2018/19 Absa Premiership season, which will also be the first for Slovakian coach Jozef Vukusic in charge of the side, Rise and Shine will take on Black Leopards in a Limpopo derby at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.

In other news from Polokwane, the club has offered veteran midfielder Jabulani Maluleke a new two-year contract, as confirmed by sources close to the club.
