Manyisa, Molangoane Strike Back At TTM

Oupa Manyisa and Joseph Molangoane look set to strike back after their sudden release from their TTM contracts two weeks ago.

The Siya crew broke the news that the Venda based outfit were contemplating offloading Manyisa last month, claiming he was injury prone and was a high earner they could not afford – despite announcing he’d signed a two-year contract in August.

It was subsequently confirmed by the club that Manyisa, Molangoane and Gustavo Paez would be released, even before they had kicked a ball for TTM.

Manyisa, a former Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder, as well as Molangoane, who also played for Pirates and was at Kaizer Chiefs last season, threatened to take their complaint to the PSL.

But reports in local media suggested they had given TTM until November 11 this week to respond, and that has come and gone.

Now, it is understood the pair will then proceed to the league’s Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC) to request a garnishee order (legal notice) be placed on the club’s grant.

Topflight clubs receive R2-million from the PSL every month, so the order would mean the amount owed would be deducted and given to the two players.

With TTM apparently failing to respond to a letter from Kabelo Mashego, the pair’s lawyer, they are expected to proceed with their approach to the DRC.

Sello Chokoe, the TTM CEO, could not be reached for comment at the time of going to print, but he had told local media last weekend that he was aware of the matter and that it was with the legal team at the time.
