Highlands Park Are Currently Assessing An Ivorian Defender
A former teammate of Mamelodi Sundowns’ Bangaly Soumahoro and Yannick Zakri, could be making the move to South Africa’s top-flight.
It has been confirmed to the Siya crew by a source close to the club that former ASEC Mimosas centre back, Adama Kangoute is currently on trial at Highlands Park.
The Lions of the North have been promoted to South Africa’s top-flight for the new 2018/19 campaign after lifting the National First Division trophy and according to sources, the technical team at the club has already begun assessing their options for the upcoming transfer window.
Kangoute played alongside both Soumahoro and Zakri during their time at Mimosas, also bringing with him CAF Champions League experience.
At the age of 26, with still several years left in him, he is considered as a top centre back by pundits in Africa.
Sources have revealed that the player is currently being assessed by Head Coach Owen Da Gama and his technical team and it remains to be seen whether the club will be impressed enough to offer the player a contract as they prepare to bolster their team for life in South Africa’s top-flight football.
