Highlands Park are believed to be interested in an Orlando Pirates goalkeeper.
The Lions of the North will be preparing for a potential return to South Africa’s top flight, as they are currently leading the pack in the National First Division with a 14-point gap.
According to sources, Highlands have since identified a few players to add to their roster in the new season, with Pirates goalkeeper, Wayne Sandilands' name being mentioned as a possible recruit.
The Buccaneers currently have on their books Siyabhonga Mpontshane, Jackson Mabokgwane, Sandilands, as well as Brighton Mhlongo, who is on loan at Chippa United and will return to the club at the end of the season.
With Pirates yet to find their number one goalkeeper, indications are that decisions about their current shot-stoppers’ immediate future will be made in the coming months.
However, as revealed by sources, Highlands are keeping a close eye on the 34-year-old Sandilands and it remains to be seen whether Pirates would be open to considering the sale of Sandilands, should Highlands come in with enquiries or a possible offer.
