New Deal For Amakhosi Striker?

Gustavo Paez Could Be Set For A New Contract At Kaizer Chiefs

By Soccer Laduma - Dec 12, 2017 09:16 AM

Kaizer Chiefs seemingly have no intentions of letting Gustavo Paez leave the club, with indications that they’re weighing up a new contract for the Venezuelan striker.

The 27-year-old forward still has over a year left to run on his current deal at Naturena, although with Pitso Mosimane believed to be sniffing around it appears that they are eager to try and secure his long-term future.

There has been talk of a potential swap involving Paez and fellow South American, Leonardo Castro, but that could be complicated by the fact that Castro is free at the end of the season while Paez is not.

As reported in the latest issue of Soccer Laduma, the crew has been informed that Chiefs are looking to try and make sure that they don’t lose Paez at all, and are considering opening up contract talks sooner rather than later regarding a new deal.

The forward has played in 13 of Chiefs’ 14 Absa Premiership games so far this season, starting 10 of them, although while he was given another start against Platinum Stars last weekend, he is still waiting for his first goal since September.

@blackmeteor he is not effective when balls are pumped to him from afar. He is deadly when three are moves and those one-twos. His runs off the ball is superb. He needs Shabba to feed him, not those long balls from the keeper. Why can't the technical team see that. Chiefs need an assistant coach.

Not too bad, but no better than any of our local strikers. Does not offer anything special in my opinion.

The worst is yet to come for fau. Jessica and his Father, Kaizer Motaung have a fall out over non payment of bonuses in what is destined to be a family feud. Watch the space....

@EagleEye, Paez was not convincing even before Prof Komphela resorted to his famous 9-1-0 formation.

As long as Komphela is still the coach his signature will count for nothing because he is played out of position.

Tie him down for another two seasons with another season as an option to prove me right that Paez is not a PSL material.

@go khosi go-part 2 If one played diski, doesn't mean that particular person can analyze diski properly. Your Paez is a cow that can't time its moves.
