In their search for an experienced coach in line with the plans for their first ever season in Mansi’s top-flight, Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila have earmarked former Bafana Bafana coach Gordon Igesund.
With current Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt being ruled out of a move to Limpopo – as part of the changes set to take place next season after the owners of TTM bought the top flight status of the Students, the club is in search of an experienced to compete in top tier of SA football.
According to sources, Igesund’s name has been bandied about as a potential option to take over the reigns at the Limpopo outfit.
Since parting ways with Highlands Park in 2017, the four-time league winning coach has kept busy setting up his football academy in Cape Town, which is now up and running and expected to produce future stars.
“TTM is interested in coach Gordon Igesund to join the team if he is available. The club’s chairman Mr. (Masala) Mulaudzi is very keen on a coach of Igesund’s calibre to help the team in the PSL (top-flight) and will be attempting to get him on board,” said the source.
TTM is playing the remaining matches of the season in the GladAfrica Championship with Lucky Nelukau in charge as the caretaker coach, following the departure of Serbian mentor Vladislav Heric before the PSL break in March.
