GladAfrica Championship side Pretoria Callies have beefed up their squad with signing of a former Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates midfielder.
William Twala, 31, has made a return to Msanzi and has since joined the Tshwane side after plying his trade abroad.
The midfielder leaves the Iraqi side Erbil SC, where joined in October 2020 on a one-year deal after parting ways with Chippa United at the end of last season.
According to insiders, Twala signed a short-term deal with an option to extend as he looks to help GladAfrica debutants ensure that they maintain their status in the division.
The 31-year-old comes in with huge experience, including 146 top-flight appearances in the South African top tier, featuring for the likes of Maritzburg United, Free State stars and Golden Arrows, scoring 11 goals and 13 assists.
The reason for the player's decision to cut his stay short in Iraq remains unclear, despite having a few months left on his contract.
The Siya crew made attempts to contact the player and his representative, but both could not be reached for comment.
