Mamelodi Sundowns could offload several players during the transfer window next month, Coach Pitso Mosimane confirmed to the media.
The Siya crew has previously reported that striker Toni Silva is among the players who could be making an early exit from the club, while Thokozani Sekotlong, another forward, has also been just as frustrated and could be looking to move.
Speaking after the Brazilians beat Libyan side Al Ahly Benghazi 4-0 at the weekend to progress to the group stages of the CAF Champions League, Mosimane was asked specifically about midfielder George Lebese.
But the coach said there were a few other players the club would have to make a call on in the coming weeks.
“Why are you only asking me about George? It’s not only him. But okay, he is struggling to get into the team and it’s a fact,” explained Mosimane.
Lebese joined Sundowns from Kaizer Chiefs in August last year, but has hardly kicked a ball at Chloorkop and has recently spoken about his desire to leave as soon as possible to get game time.
“What I like about George is that he is not casual, he works hard and has lost about 6kgs since he got here. But when you come on you have got to switch it on so we don’t forget you. It’s a bit tough for George. I like him as a person outside football, but you know sometimes you get those who don’t crack it. I did not work out, so I understand that he wants to move. We don’t want to kill his career,” the coach told the media.
