Gavin Hunt – the Chippa United head coach – has become increasingly under pressure due to results that have not been forthcoming for the Eastern Cape outfit.
Under the guidance of the four-time league winning coach, the Chilli Boys have gone nine matches without a victory.

In their home match against Maritzburg United on the weekend, Chippa drew 0-0 – a result which is said to have not made the club’s chairman Siviwe ‘Chippa’ Mpengesi any pleased.
Chippa have lost five and drawn four from their last nine matches and have scored just three goals and conceded a whopping 11.
Last month, Mpengesi wrote a letter to the ‘Chilli Boys family’, in which he raised concerns about the team’s disappointing start to the season, although at the time he said he was supporting the former Kaizer Chiefs coach fully in his attempts to change the team’s fortunes.
Looking forward, the Gqeberha-based club is said to have some decisions to make during the current FIFA international break regarding their season and in line with the objectives which were outlined when the campaign started.

One of the major concerns for the club is the issue of the results, and while some in the management still believe in Hunt and confident that he would turn things around for the team, some are said to have run out of patience and are concerned in fear of seeing the team fighting against relegation again at the end of the season like in the previous season.
Hunt joined Chippa in July on a two-year deal in what was seen as a shock move at the time, after he parted ways with the Glamour Boys just before the end of last season.
