A move to a Gauteng-based club is pending for a midfielder who has been unattached since parting ways with Orlando Pirates.
In August, the Siya crew revealed that Gladwin Shitolo had emerged as a transfer target for Sekhukhune United as part of the Gauteng-based Limpopo club’s plans for their first season in Mzansi’s topflight.
After almost four months without a club as interest from Babina Noko appeared to have died down at one stage, the 32-year-old player finally made his way to the club to begin training under head coach MacDonald Makhubedu and his technical team.
As confirmed by sources close to the ambitious club, Shitolo has started training with Sekhukhune in the hope of getting a deal to resurrect his career.
The defender-cum-midfielder had been on Pirates’ books for seven years when the club confirmed the amicable parting of ways with him in August.
Shitolo had been signed from Jomo Cosmos when he joined the Soweto giants in 2014, although he struggled for game-time at Bucs and had spent much of the time in the last few years on loan at the now-defunct Platinum Stars, Golden Arrows and Chippa United respectively.
