A Serbian coach has emerged as a frontrunner for the coaching job at Free State Stars as the club continues the search for the man to replace Luc Eymael.
A few other coaches, including Ernst Middendorp and Zlatko Krmpotic, have been previously linked with Ea Lla Koto since the Bethlehem outfit parted ways with Eymael last month.
However, club management decided on roping in Selaotse 'Sly' Mosala and David Vilakazi s interim coaches while the search for a new man to take charge of the team’s technical bench continues.
It has been revealed to the Siya crew by sources in the know that Serbian coach, Nikola Kavazovic, is being targeted for Stars’ coaching job.
“The Serbian-born coach has had talks with Free State Stars,” revealed the source.
Kavazovic, who left his position as the head coach of Township Rollers in Botswana to join in October to join AFC Leopards in Kenya, is said to be not with the club at the moment.
According to reports in Kenya, the coach said left the club to be with his father who had a stroke on Friday.
Sources in Mzansi have indicated that a move for Kavazovic to the PSL may finally happen, should Stars the discussions with Stars yield positive results.
Kavazovic was previously linked with Kaizer Chiefs, while Baroka FC were also said to be keen on his services before the two clubs employed the coaches they currently have.
