The PSL big guns could look to pounce on a Free State Stars winger who is nearing the end of his contract with the Bethlehem-based club.
With Sinethemba Jantjie nearing the end of his contract with Stars the club is keen on tying him on a new deal, however have not yet signed the contract.
According to Siya sources, the Free State-based outfit has hit a snag with the player's camp over a new deal for the 29-year-old winger who had been one of the best players for Luc Eymael's team last season.
As reported in the latest issue of Soccer Laduma, edition 1086, Ea Lla Koto are yet to reach an agreement with Jantjie's representatives from Rush Hour Sports Management about the new deal, with the parties failing to agree on financial terms.
Jantjie’s contract with Stars is set to expire in June of 2019, which means that the player could sign a pre-contract elsewhere in January.
“We are negotiating but haven’t reached an agreement as yet. The club wants to renew the player’s contract, but we haven’t reached an agreement on that. As the player’s representative, we are taking it into consideration that the boy isn’t getting any younger, and that is what we are saying as part of the negotiations. We are not happy with what has been offered by the club to the player so far,” Jantjie's agent Ratshibvumo Mulovhedzi told the Siya crew.
Jantjie has been linked with some of the PSL’s big guns, including Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns, in recent months.
