Eymael Back, Troughton’s Stars Position In Jeopardy
Free State Stars Are Looking At Luc Eymael As A Replacement
Former Polokwane City head coach, Luc Eymael, is back in the country, sparking rumours that he may be on his way back into a position in the Absa Premiership.
It was confirmed last month that the Belgian coach had reached an agreement with City, regarding his exit after a fallout involving Bloemfontein Celtic and left them with a rocky relationship, however, it appears he couldn’t stay away from South Africa for too long.
The Siya crew reported earlier this week that Sammy Troughton was on thin ice at Stars after their opening day defeat to AmaZulu, and Siya sources have now explained that Eymael could be in line to take over if Ea Lla Koto decides to replace him.
Stars take on Bidvest Wits tonight and it is thought that – regardless of the result – Troughton may be on his way, with the 53-year-old having failed to impress since being appointed in July.
It is thought that a final decision will only be made following tonight’s encounter in Bethlehem, although the writing does appear to be on the wall for the Irishman, with Eymael, 57, waiting in the wings.
