Former SuperSport United defender Clayton Daniels has surfaced at a new club as he looks to revive his career in the second half of the season.
Daniels has been without a club since his surprise exit from SuperSport at the start of the month.
Sources close to the player have confirmed to the Siya crew that the experienced centre-back has started training at Maritzburg United.
It is believed that Daniels hopes to earn a contract under the club’s newly-appointed coach, Ernst Middendorp, to help the side in their pursuit of moving away from the basement of the log.
The Team of Choice have conceded a whopping 14 goals from eight matches, and a need to strengthen the defence is one of the priorities for Middendorp in his attempt to save the KwaZulu-Natal club from possible danger.
Indications are that the 36-year-old former Mamelodi Sundowns player has not signed a deal with the Pietermaritzburg outfit yet.
