Former Mamelodi Sundowns Midfielder Retires From Football
Former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder, Surprise Moriri, has retired from professional football as he looks to take the next step of his career.
The 37-year-old began his career in South Africa’s top flight for Platinum Stars, before making the move to Masandawana in 2004, where he experienced the most illustrious years of his professional footballing career.
Moriri has won several Absa Premiership league titles and cup competitions while donning the Ka Bo Yellow colours, however, the now-former player’s stay with the Chloorkop-based club came to an end last year, when the 37-year-old joined up with Highlands Park for his final stint at top flight football.
It has since been confirmed that Moriri has retired from footballer and is now on his way to begin a coaching career.
“Yes, I called it a day and starting with a coaching career. Looking forward and I’m excited,” Moriri told Soccer Laduma
The Siya crew revealed in December last year that the former player completed his CAF B Coaching License and indications are that Moriri will be looking to continue obtaining his coaching badges.
