Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder, Michael Nkambule, is eyeing a return to professional football after a long absence.
Nkambule has been in football wilderness for some time after he parted ways with Chiefs in 2010, where the midfielder was at numerous clubs in the National First Division without making any noticeable progress.
Now at 29, the Daveyton-born player who was once touted as the next big star in Mzansi’s football, is eyeing a return with a view to resurrecting his career.
“I am trying to get a team for Michael Nkambule but we need to see where he is in terms of fitness levels. We will assess him and take it from there.
“He will be attending training tomorrow somewhere. He is very much keen on making a return,” a source told the Siya crew.
In 2015, it was reported by the Siya crew that Nkambule was in Thailand in search of a club. According to the source, it is still the player’s wish to secure a move abroad as he attempts to revive his career.
