A former Kaizer Chiefs defender has resurfaced at a shock new club in the ABC Motsepe League.
Back in March, the Siya crew reported that defender Mario Booysen, was on his way out at AmaZulu after being deemed surplus to requirements by coach Benni McCarthy.
The lanky defender who spent one season on the books of Amakhosi found the going tough at Usuthu and made just five appearances for the DStv Premiership runners up last season before eventually being released by the club.
Now, the latest news reaching the Siya crew, is that the veteran defender has resurfaced at newly-formed ABC Motsepe League outfit, Clarewood JPM FC.
According to Siya sources, the 33-year-old has been training with the Cape-based outfit for the last few weeks in preparation for their maiden season in the country’s third division.
Insiders have revealed that the defender will make his debut for his new club this weekend in a clash against Royal Blues in the Cape Town edition of the ABC Motsepe League.
Booysen has turned out for the likes of Maritzburg United, Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United and now looks set to wind down the last of his career in the lower leagues of Mzansi football.
