The Siya crew can confirm that former Orlando Pirates midfielder Issa Sarr has undergone the process of being localised and will register as a local player.
The 31-year-old Senegalese-born player has plied his trade in South Africa for over five years, having begun his career on local shores with Chippa United in the 2012. He has since played for the likes of Platinum Stars and most recently spent four seasons at Orlando Pirates.
“I can tell you that Issa is still in the country and will be registered as a local player at his next club,” said a Siya source close to the player.
Meanwhile, since leaving the Buccaneers in August, the midfielder has not found a club to play for this despite initial reports he had signed for Ajax Cape Town.
However, the Siya crew can confirm that he has been in talks with Highlands Park, who recently regained their Absa Premiership status as the club is looking for an experienced defensive midfielder.
Furthermore, the Siya crew understands that Free State Stars are rumored to be keeping a close tab on Sarr’s situation.
The crew will keep monitoring the situation closely.
