Zimbabwean International On Verge Of PSL Return
Erick Chipeta Is Set To Sign For Platinum Stars
Zimbabwean international defender, Erick Chipeta, is on the verge of completing a return to the Absa Premiership, with Platinum Stars set to snap him up.
Chipeta, 27, joined Al Ra’ed in the Saudia Arabian Premier League earlier this year after leaving Ajax Cape Town, however, agreed to a mutual termination after the club was found to be in breach of his contract.
The centre back never made his debut for the Saudi club, leaving him free to sign for another team this season, and the Siya crew has been informed that Dikwena are keen to bring him on board to help them in their attempts to stay in the top-flight.
Having played for both Chippa United and Ajax, the Zimbabwean has more than 50 appearances in South Africa and is seen as a player that could possibly plug their leaky defence.
Siya sources have suggested that a short-term deal until the end of the season with an option to renew is on the table for Chipeta and that a deal could be finalised I the near future.
Stars have six games left to save their Absa Premiership status.
