Former Mamelodi Sundowns winger Elias Pelembe is facing uncertain future for the upcoming season, following his stint in the GladAfrica Championship.
Having struggled to get a club in Mzansi’s top-flight after the sale of Bidvest Wits to Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (now known as Marumo Gallants) last year, the Mozambican international signed for Polokwane City in March this year as the team hoped to push for a return to the elite league.

Following Rise and Shine’s failure to gain promotion, after finishing in a lowly 13th place on the log, Pelembe has been told to look for employment elsewhere as he doesn’t form part of the Limpopo club’s plans for the 2021/22 season.
Pelembe will turn 38 in November, and he has been playing in Mzansi since 2007, having first arrived in the country for SuperSport United.
During his time with Sundowns between 2009 and 2015, Pelembe made the headlines as being one of the top earners in Mzansi’s top-flight.

Vusimuzi Mngomezulu, who made the headlines after scoring a scorcher against Kaizer Chiefs in 2018, has also been released, along with Mthokozisi Nene as Polokwane undertakes a complete overhaul in preparation for a return to the big league next season.
In other news, following the announcement of Stellenbosch FC that the club has parted ways with Phathutshedzo Nange who is expected to be unveiled at Chiefs, the Mother City outfit has also confirmed the departure of young defender Azeemud-deen Brenner.
