Defender Training With Sundowns, Awaits January Window

Ricardo Nascimento has returned to training with Mamelodi Sundowns but will not be able to play for the club until January next year.

As previously reported by the Siya crew, Sundowns and Nascimento have agreed to terms on a new deal for the centre back, after parting ways following his long-term injury.

The Siya crew has since been informed that the 30-year-old has begun training with the Brazilians but will need to wait until January next year to be registered to play for the club.

However, Masandawana will need to free up space on their foreign quota in order to re-sign Nascimento, which ultimately means that one of their foreigners are heading for the exit in the January transfer window next month.

Out of Leonardo Castro, Bangaly Soumahoro, Fares Hachi, Yannick Zakri and Brimah Razak, Castro is the one foreigner who is likely to make way for Nascimento.

The Colombian striker has been heavily linked with an exit from the Chlorrkop-based club after it became highly unlikely that he would extend his stay with Sundowns.
