Despite a successful season with Nedbank Cup champions Marumo Gallants, the Siya crew has been informed that one of the club’s defenders has terminated his contract with the club amid interest from within the PSL.
Siya sources have indicated that Brandon Theron has taken the decision to terminate his contract by mutual consent, becoming the side’s seventh departure in the current transfer window.
The defender made 21 appearances for Gallants in all competitions, including a cameo appearance in the final against Chippa United, where the Limpopo outfit emerged 1-0 victors.
Now, Siya sources have indicated that the defender is not short of any suitors in the PSL and has attracted interest from three clubs namely AmaZulu, Maritzburg United and TS Galaxy.
The right-sided wingback has previously played under Galaxy coach Owen Da Gama during a stint at Highlands Park, and he is no stranger to the technical team of Usuthu either.
The crew reached out to the player’s representative Ashley Rasool of Lion Management Sports, however he was unavailable for comment at the time of publish.
It now remains to be seen where the Cape-born star will surface next although indications are that it will be in the country’s top-flight, with a move set to be concluded in the coming days.
