Chiefs To Open Up Defender Talks
Kaizer Chiefs are expected to open up talks with their defender, Daniel Cardoso, in the coming weeks to discuss his future at Naturena when his deal expires.
Cardoso has managed to force his way into Steve Komphela’s plans this season after a tough first couple of seasons at the club and has almost started as many Absa Premiership games this campaign (10) as he did in the entirety of 2016/17.
As reported in the latest issue of Soccer Laduma, the Siya crew has been informed that no talks to discuss a new contract for the central defender have taken place as yet, though that is expected to change, as the club looks to avoid the possibility of his head being turned in the new year.
The 28-year-old signed a three-year contract with Chiefs back in 2015 when he joined them from Free State Stars, and any interested parties will be free to open up talks with him without Chiefs’ permission from January 1st.
Cardoso is likely to get his 11th start of the season on Wednesday when Chiefs take on Chippa United.
