Kaizer Chiefs’ pursuit of a new head coach is yet to come to an end, although they are believed to have their hopes on a particular mentor.
Stuart Baxter has been heavily linked with a return to Chiefs, although his potential move to Naturena is expected to be very complicated as the Englishman is still contracted to the South African Football Association.
However, recent speculation in the football fraternity is with regards to Doc Khumalo’s departure from Baroka FC.
Baroka officially confirmed today that Khumalo and the club have agreed to part ways after he joined up with them at the beginning of the 2017/18 campaign.
This has since sparked rumours of the possibility that Doc Khumalo could be available as an option alongside Chiefs’ new head coach, should they manage to secure Stuart Baxter’s signature.
Khumalo plied his trade alongside Baxter as an assistant coach at Chiefs, where the duo guided the Soweto giants to two Absa Premiership titles, a Nedbank Cup and the MTN8.
Now with Chiefs expected to announce their new head coach, it remains to be seen whether the club will look at approaching their club legend, Khumalo for a possible return to Naturena in a coaching capacity.
