Bidvest Wits starlet, Bradley Cross, is forging a good name for himself in Europe on loan with Schalke, and looks to have attracted interest from the English Premier League.
The 19-year-old South African youth international is currently playing for Schalke U19s in Germany as he continues his path outside of Mzansi’s shores, and the Wits loanee is said to have been earmarked as a potential signing for clubs in the EPL as they plan for the future.
Cross’ centre back partner, Malick Thiaw, is said to have caught the eye of clubs such as Arsenal and Liverpool, and Cross’ impressive showing have not gone unnoticed alongside his fellow teeneager.
According to the Daily Mail in England, Cross will be watched by EPL scouts once football returns to Germany once the Coronavirus pandemic has eventually died down, and Wits may face a battle to keep hold of him going forward.
The publication said, “Though Thiaw is the obvious main attraction, watching scouts have also noted the displays of his U19 centre-back partner Cross and have recommended he be watched further when the season resumes.
“Cross is due to return to Bidvest at the end of the season and has one year left on contract. He is a South Africa U20 international but has a UK passport so can qualify as homegrown for clubs in England.”
Cross has been impressive for Schalke’s youth side over the course of the season so far, and could well be destined for bigger things if he continues to impress in Europe once football returns to action in the coming months.
