Chiefs Legendary Duo To Exit Club?
Could Brian Baloyi & Patrick Mabedi Also Leave Kaizer Chiefs?
They may be club legends, but there have been suggestions that even Kaizer Chiefs’ stalwarts may not be safe from the chop when they make changes in the pre-season.
Chiefs are out of the title race and have just the Nedbank Cup to save their blushes this season following two trophyless campaigns, with management stating that there will be a ‘complete overhaul’ ahead of the start of the 2018/19 Absa Premiership.
While Komphela is expected to leave, Siya sources in this week’s issue of Soccer Laduma have also suggested that both goalkeeper coach, Brian Baloyi, and assistant coach, Patrick Mabedi, could end up moving on as well once this season comes to an end, although there has been no confirmation regarding their futures as yet.
Baloyi, who has stepped back down the ladder following the appointment of Lee Baxter as Head of Goalkeeping, may no longer be needed at Naturena, while Mabedi could potentially follow Komphela out of the exit door should he not have his contract renewed.
The crew tried getting hold of Chiefs’ communications manager, Vina Maphosa, for comment on the future of the two coaches, however, received no response by the time of going to print.
