PSL Trio Chasing COSAFA Top Goalscorer’s Signature

COSAFA Cup’s leading goalscorer is chased by at least three PSL clubs who are keen on adding him to their respective squads for the new season.

Botswana’s Onkabetse Makgantai is the player who has impressed so far in the competition with his excellent performances and the goals he has scored for The Zebras.

Makgantai is currently the tournament’s top goalscorer with his five strikes. He is also the all-time leading goalscorer for Botswana in the tournament.

So far in the 2018 edition of the Cosafa Cup, Makgantai has already been voted Man of the Match on a few occasions. During the 2016 edition of the tournament which was held in Namibia, the forward was voted the Player of the Tournament for his excellent performances and a knack for scoring goals.

News reaching the Siya crew is that the Botswana forward has attracted interest from all three Limpopo-based PSL clubs, namely; Polokwane City, Baroka FC and Black Leopards.

All three clubs are believed to have made enquiries on the availability of the 22-year-old for the new season, according to sources in the know.

Makgantai is on the books of Democratic Republic of the Congo outfit AS Vita Club, although he has spent the season on loan with Botswana club Orapa United.

The player will aim to further impress PSL suitors when Botswana take on Bafana Bafana in the Cosafa Cup Plate Final on Friday.

In other news, the trio of Lesenya Ramoraka, Kobamelo Kebaikanye and Thatayaone Kgamanyane are some of the other players from Botswana who have attracted interest from PSL teams.
