SuperSport United have managed to secure the services of two of their veteran defenders for one more season.
The Siya crew revealed earlier this year that Matsatsantsa were in discussions with Siyabonga Nhlapho, Bongani Khumalo and Onismor Bhasera regarding new one-year extensions for the trio, as all of them would see their contracts expire at the end of the current campaign.
Nhlapho, confirmed to the Siya crew that the club exercised the two-year option on his contract keeping him at the club until at least 2023.
Now it has emerged that both Khumalo and Bhasera will be with the Tshwane outfit until at least 2021.
“Yes, both Bongani and Bash have signed one-year renewals with the club. They were part of the group who returned to training yesterday (Sunday),” a source told the Siya crew.
Bhasera, 33, has been the club’s main left back this season, making a total of 27 appearances for Kaitano Tembo’s side.
Meanwhile, Khumalo has featured 15 times in all competitions- predominantly used as a sub by the Zimbabwean coach.
SuperSport have also tied down 35-year-old Clayton Daniels to a new one-year deal, the former Mamelodi Sundowns man has his eye set on coaching as he starts planning for life after football.
