Former Chiefs Target In Club Hunt
Club Search In Progress For Young Defender
Aviwe Nyamende, who confirmed signing a contract with Kaizer Chiefs last year, is currently in search for a new club.
In September last year Nyamende confirmed to Soccer Laduma that he had been signed by Chiefs, after he impressed Steve Komphela and his technical team in training.
However, as confirmed by the young defender at the time, the contract was later cancelled as he remained without a club. The left back was recently training with AmaZulu under their former coach, Joey Antipas.
“I spent six weeks training with AmaZulu, but I have since stopped. It was taking longer than I expected. I had an option to go to Chippa (United) and train with them. But I didn’t, as I had already decided to be with AmaZulu. The head coach (Joey) Antipas was impressed, but I’m not really sure what happened,” Nyamende told the Siya crew.
The 24-year-old has also shed light into how he handled his departure from Chiefs, following his short stint with the Soweto giants, in the latest edition of Soccer Laduma, issue 1035.
