Among the new signings expected to be unveiled at Chippa United, three players are from a Cape Town-based club, the Siya crew has learnt.
After losing some key players from last season’s squad, including defenders Veluyeke Zulu and Namibia international Riaan Hanamub who have joined AmaZulu, the Chilli Boys are beefing up the squad as part of the attempts to avoid fighting against relegation like they did in the 2021/22 campaign.
As confirmed by sources, Cape Town All Stars players Azola Ntsabo, Brooklyn Poggenpoel and Sirgio Kammies are likely to appear in the colours of the Chilli Boys in the new season, with their deals believed to be as good as done.
The three players were influential in helping Igugu Lekapa to finish third on the GladAfrica Championship log, though the team was unsuccessful in gaining promotion to the DStv Premiership.
Chippa is expected to make an announcement on player movements in the coming days, with the team having returned this week while one of the rising stars from last season Azola Matrose has been announced at Orlando Pirates.
