Chippa United and Roger Sikhakhane could be set for yet another reunion as the 2017/18 season progresses.
Sikhakhane is currently unattached, following his departure from National First Division side, Richards Bay FC.
The 41-year-old mentor, who guided the now-defunct Thanda Royal Zulu to PSL promotion last season, is linked with a return to Chippa.
Prior to their 2-1 win over Cape Town City on the weekend, Chippa had gone five games without a victory.
The team had picked up only five points from a possible 15, after drawing all of their five games at the time under caretaker coach, Teboho Moloi.
As reported by the Siya crew, Chippa since enlisted the services of a match performance analyst to assist the technical team and players in their planning.
According to sources close to the Port Elizabeth outfit, Sikhakhane is also being targeted for a role in the team.
“Chippa United is more like a home for Roger Sikhakhane. They (Chippa and Sikhakhane) are more like a family. He’s been somewhere around there. He might help here and there when needed,” said the source.
Sikhakhane was among those who attended the game for Chippa and City in Mdantsane on Sunday. He has had different spells as the coach of the Chilli Boys in the past.
