The Siya crew has been informed that Chippa United look set to win the race for the services of Moeketsi Sekola.
Sekola is on his way out at Free State Stars and the player’s contract with the Bethlehem outfit will come to an end in June. He is no longer keen to join Highlands Park and the striker signed a pre-contract with the Lions of the North in January, but it is understood that due to their relegation to the NFD, he is no longer looking forward to joining the club.
Bidvest Wits, Golden Arrows and Chippa have all been reportedly interested in the player and sources close to Chippa have confirmed to the Siya crew that the Port Elizabeth outfit appears to be in a favourable position to win the player’s signature.
It is believed that the Botshabelo-born player is likely to join Chippa on a loan deal from Highlands Park.
“Moeketsi Sekola is joining Chippa United. The deal is 99% done. The parties have negotiated a loan deal for the player to join Chippa from Highlands Park. The deal could be finalised any time from now,” said the source.
Initially, the Chilli Boys thought they reinforced the striking department for Dan Malesela’s team with the signing of Puleng Tlolane from Polokwane City. However, it turned out that the striker is still contracted to Rise and Shine and is currently unavailable for a transfer.
