Chippa United have confirmed talking to Thamsanqa Sangweni about his future with the club, with a likelihood of an exit not being ruled out.
As reported, Sangweni is facing an uncertain future with the Chilli Boys, as part of the changes taking place at the Port Elizabeth club during the second half of the season.
While it remains unconfirmed whether the midfielder would make the 18-man match day squad for Clinton Larsen’s team for this afternoon’s Absa Premiership match against Maritzburg United, Chippa CEO Morgan Mammila has confirmed to the Siya crew that the player’s future has been in discussions at the club this week.
“We are still in talks,” confirmed the former Baroka CEO.
As recently reported on the Soccer Laduma website, Sangweni might have played his last match for Chippa, during last week’s league match against Orlando Pirates at the Orlando Stadium, with indications from sources close to the Eastern Cape club being that the management have not been entirely pleased with the player's contribution to the team with his performances this season.
Earlier in the week, Chippa confirmed giving away 10 000 tickets for their match against Maritzburg, which will be played at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
