In an attempt to bolster their attack for the 2020/21 season, the Siya crew has established that Chippa United are set to snap up a former Bidvest Wits striker.
According to Siya sources, Cameroonian striker Bienvenu Eva Nga was not part of the players retained by Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC and has agreed put pen to paper with Lehlohonolo Seema’s side.
The Siya crew understands that the player agreed to the deal in principle last week. Chippa United, who finished in 11th place on the Absa Premiership standings, were keen to reinforce their attack, and with influential Nigerian striker Augustine Kwem set to leave the Chilli Boys on a free, Nga is seen as the ideal replacement.
The highly-rated star surfaced in Mzansi when he joined up with Wits in January, after finishing as top scorer in Mozambique with 24 goals and landing the award for the Moçambola Player of the Season for his club Costa do Sol.
While he took some time to adjust to life in the Absa Premiership, being utilised predominantly as a substitute by Gavin Hunt, Nga eventually managed to find the back of the net for the Clever Boys against Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup second round back in February.
He subsequently scored four goals in all competitions for the Braamfontein-based side, including the only goal of the game in Wits’ 1-0 league win over Kaizer Chiefs.
Now, with the club having been sold to businessman Masala Mulaudzi, and Hunt being unveiled as Chiefs coach, Nga will be hoping to hit the ground running in Port Elizabeth, with the deal expected to be concluded soon.
Meanwhile the Chilli Boys have welcomed back tricky playmaker Sizwe Mdlinzo from TS Galaxy 34 months after leaving the club.
