Chippa United may be considering parting ways with one of their recently signed players, the Siya crew has been reliably informed.
Indications are that striker Eva Nga is being monitored closely by coach Gavin Hunt and Siya sources at the club have informed Soccer Laduma that if the big burly forward does not improve he might find himself sidelined.
Nga was coincidentally brought to SA by Hunt in January last year from Mozambique outfit Costa do Sol to join Bidvest Wits, a club that was sold six months later to businessman Masala Mulaudzi and forced both the player and coach to move on.
Hunt went to Kaizer Chiefs, while Nga was picked up by Chippa on a reported one-year contract under then coach Lehlohonolo Seema.
It was then also reported that the Chilli Boys terminated his contract at the end of the 2020/21 season, only for Hunt, shortly following his shock appointment by chairman Siviwe ‘Chippa’ Mpengesi, to recall Nga to the squad.
According to sources, the coach is understood to now be in two minds and could make a U-turn on the player’s future – meaning an exit might very well be on the cards.
Nga has played in all three of Chippa’s DStv Premiership matches so far in this campaign, making the starting line-up in two of them.
He hasn’t yet scored and he did not finish any of the games his started either, which perhaps backs up the rumour that Hunt is considering his options.
Chippa were hot on the heels of Tashreeq Morris on transfer deadline day two weeks ago, but it’s thought the striker preferred to remain at Cape Town City instead.
