Chiefs Linked With Another Overseas Star
The Siya crew recently revealed that there had been discussions at Kaizer Chiefs regarding the possibility of a move for Steven Pienaar and it appears he is not the only one.
Pienaar, 35, is currently a free agent after leaving Sunderland following their English Premier League relegation. The crew understands that his name has been brought up at Naturena with regards to the list of potential targets going into the 2017/18 campaign.
Now, according to Siya sources, Chiefs are considering a move for another free agent that is currently overseas, with Daylon Claasen believed to be open to a South African return after nearly a decade in Europe.
Claasen’s contract with 1860 Munich in Germany will expire at the end of June and come July 1st he will be able to join any club of his choosing.
While it is known that the 27-year-old’s first choice is to remain overseas, he is believed to be open to considering a move to the Absa Premiership if the offer is good enough.
The former Ajax Cape Town man has played for Ajax Amsterdam, Lierse, Lech Poznan and 1860 while in Europe, having his most successful spell in Belgium.
