David ‘DVD ’ Mathebula is currently in search of a new club after leaving his technical team position at Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC in the National First Division.
The former Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United midfielder served as the assistant coach of the Limpopo outfit under Sello Chokoe, who is the club’s head coach.
“DVD has resigned from his position as assistant coach of TTM. He left the club on Monday,” a high-ranking source at the club told the Siya crew.
“Sello Chokoe was called into a meeting with the club this week, and he and his technical team have been given an ultimatum to get maximum points from the team’s next two matches. Both matches will be away, against Real Kings and TS Galaxy respectively,” added the source.
Also confirmed by the source is that former Chiefs striker David Zulu, as well as ex-Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Siyabulela Shai, are among players that have left the club.
“Siyabulela Shai has left the club. He wasn’t released but he left on his own. He didn’t come back to the team from the Christmas break. We came back from the break on 2 December and he hasn’t been here.
“David Zulu has been released by the club. They say he doesn’t score goals. He played six games and didn’t score. Baberwa FC (ABC Motsepe League) has been interested in David Zulu but it sounds like he is interested in a move to a PSL club,” the source said.
Raymond Maluleke, George Khumalo and Khotso Chabeli are some of the players that have left the club, while Mthokozisi Msomi who is a former Bidvest Wits and Cape Town All Stars player and has also played in Botswana in his career, has been signed. Former SuperSport United striker Phumelele ‘Ace’ Bhengu has also been signed by the club, as well as ex-Polokwane City midfielder Sipho Jembula.
Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Joseph Kamwendo has arrived at the NFD outfit from Malawi, with the club looking at adding him to their roster.
“Shakira Kamwendo is here. The club is waiting for all of his papers to be sorted before finalising a deal with him. The club is also interested in Petrus Ngebo but he has to first finalise everything with Highlands Park. New signing Vuyani Ntanga has already started scoring goals for the team,” concluded the source.
Joel Masutha, who is facing an exit from Chippa United, is believed to be the man targeted for a coaching role at TTM, should the club decide to make technical team changes.
