Cape Town City are set to miss out on signing a Slovenian goalkeeper that they have been linked to in the past weeks.
The Siya crew reported in this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma that Emil Velic is expected to arrive at the Mother City-based club in the coming days however, sources have since informed the crew that City may miss out on the goalkeeper’s services.
According to the source, the 23-year-old Slovenian was having visa problems in order to jet out to South Africa, adding that the shot-stopper is believed to have set his sights on a move elsewhere, instead of to the Citizens.
City are keen on finding another goalkeeper to add to their books for the new 2018/19 season, with Shuaib Walters to no longer continue on their books as a player, but in a coaching capacity.
City currently have Sage Stephens as their number one shot-stopper and the club has linked to a number of goalkeepers such as Brilliant Khuzwayo and Brighton Mhlongo, who they have since missed out on.
Now it seems like the Citizens are likely to miss out on Velic’s services as well and it remains to be seen who they will look at as their next option.
