City To End Sundowns' Winning Streak?
Cape Town City To End Mamelodi Sundowns' Winning Streak?
Cape Town City will be aiming to end their 2017 calendar year on a high note, as they look to put an end to Mamelodi Sundowns’ six-match unbeaten run.
The two sides will lock horns in the Absa Premiership on Tuesday, December 19, as they both aim for a Christmas present in the form of three points.
City did the double over the Brazilians last season, with the Mother City-based club claiming all three points in both their home and away league fixtures against the Tshwane giants.
Now, Head Coach Benni McCarthy’s side will once again look to give Masandawana a run for their money when the two sides meet at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Tuesday.
However, it won’t be an easy task for the Mother City-based club, as Sundowns are currently in riveting form, having won five out of their last six Absa Premiership fixtures, while also seated at the top spot on the league standings.
Although, with City’s recent return to winning ways, Head Coach McCarthy’s side could end the year on a high note, as they look to put an end to Sundowns’ unbeaten run while claiming the second spot on the league standings which is currently being held by Kaizer Chiefs.
