Siya sources have indicated that Cape Town City are believed to be showing an interest in a former U23 player from English Premier League side, Chelsea FC.
The January transfer window closed shut at midnight last week Thursday, with City having only added Kermit Erasmus and Thato Mokeke to their books for the second half of the season.
However, according to Siya sources, the 2018 MTN Champions are believed to be looking at more options, with the source revealing that the club is believed to have set their sights on a former U23 Chelsea player, Islam Feruz.
Feruz, who was previously on the books of the London-based club in the U23 setup, is being linked with a potential move to Head Coach Benni McCarthy’s outfit.
The 23-year-old, whose of Scottish and Somalia nationality, is currently a free agent and is free to join up with a club of his choice despite the January transfer window already closed.
Sources have revealed that the player is aware of the Citizens interest, although, indications are that his camp is still assessing his options and it remains to be seen whether City will look to approach him with an offer in the coming weeks.
