As previously reported by the Siya crew, Brilliant Khuzwayo and Brighton Mhlongo have been top of the list of City’s transfer targets, as Head Coach Benni McCarthy looks to find another goalkeeper.
As reported in this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma, City, Chiefs and Khuzwayo were unable to agree on financial terms of the deal, which subsequently saw the deal fall through.
However, according to Siya sources, City have since shifted all their attention to Mhlongo, who was recently dropped from Chippa United’s matchday squad in the past two encounters.

Siya sources have added that City could be pushing to make the deal happen before the transfer window closes at midnight today, January 31, although nothing has been finalised as yet.
Now, it remains to be seen whether City will be able to secure the services of Mhlongo, who has been on the books of the Chilli Boys for only six months since moving from Orlando Pirates.
