Cape Town City Are Eager To Add One More Goalkeeper To Their Books
Cape Town City are eager to sign another goalkeeper during the current January transfer window, as the stay of one of their shot-stoppers draws to an end.
City’s Shuaib Walters is currently in the final six months of his contract with the Mother City-based club and according to Siya sources, there has been no talk of extending the shot-stopper’s stay beyond the current 2017/18 campaign.
The team currently have goalkeepers Walters, Sage Stephens and Tatenda Mkuruva on their books and at this point, Stephens has been the only proven consistent goalkeeper for the Citizens so far this season.
According to sources, Head Coach Benni McCarthy and his technical team are eager to add one more shot-stopper to their books in the current January transfer window, as they prepare to challenge in both the domestic campaign and the CAF Confederations Cup.
As reported in recent times, Moeneeb Josephs and Brilliant Khuzwayo have both been linked with a move to the Mother City-based outfit, although at this point, it remains to be seen whether Bidvest Wits or Kaizer Chiefs will be open to hearing offers for these players.
The club has since completed the signings of Bradley Ralani, Kwanda Mngonyama and Mousa Juma, while also parting ways with Aubrey Ngoma, Letsie Koapeng and Lehlohonolo Majoro and it remains to be seen which other changes McCarthy will look to make to his squad.
