U-Turn As Sali Returns To Chippa

Two months after his exit from Chippa United was confirmed by the club, Buyani Sali is back training with the Chilli Boys ahead of the 2018/19 Absa Premiership season.
Sali, 28, did have a brief spell training with Bidvest Wits earlier this month after the Clever Boys showed an interest in signing him, however, the Siya crew has since been informed that he has now returned to the team with whom he has spent nearly a decade.
In May, a statement on the club’s official website said, “Executive Chairman, Siviwe Mpengesi has revealed that the Club and long-serving midfielder, Buyani Sali have parted ways. Sali joined Chippa United back in 2010, and despite a short stint at Polokwane City during 2013/2014 season, the no. 6 has been a key member of the Chilli Boys.”
Now though, with the new season just around the corner, it looks as though the midfielder could be back donning Chippa colours under Dan Malesela, as he looks to remind the club’s technical team as to why he’s played such an important role over the years.
His agent, Vasili Barbis, confirmed his return, saying, "Buyani is back at Chippa but nothing has been tabled yet. We're waiting to hear from Peter Koutroulis."
