Wits To Swoop In For Sundowns Target

Bidvest Wits are believed to have shown an interest in signing Ajax Cape Town goalkeeper, Brandon Petersen, after his move to Mamelodi Sundowns fell through.
Masandawana are believed to have been on the verge of landing the 23-year-old shot-stopper, however, the plug was pulled after it emerged that they were also signing Reyaad Pieterse from SuperSport United.
Now, with Petersen still looking to leave the Urban Warriors, it is thought that Wits are preparing a bid for the goalkeeper as they look to strengthen their goalkeeping department to add to Darren Keet and Brighton Mhlongo.
Petersen has just one year left to run on his contract in Cape Town, and the club will be aware of the fact that they have to sell him or risk losing him for free at the end of next season, something that may lead to them cashing in now.
It is doubtful that the Clever Boys will match the offer put forward by Sundowns when it came to purchasing the goalkeeper, however, Ajax may be put into a situation where they accept what’s offered or get nothing at all for his exit next year.
