Coach On Thin Ice – Mototo, Nteo Lined Up

He might have led them to two cup finals, but Bloemfontein Celtic have a tough call to make on their head coach John Maduka.

According to well-placed Siya sources, Maduka’s exit from the Mangaung outfit is imminent. However, it is the DStv Premiership clash against second-placed SuperSport United that will ultimately determine his future.

Sources have revealed that Maduka’s head will roll if he loses to Matsatsantsa on Tuesday, a side that he has experienced mixed results against this season.

Maduka, eliminated Kaitano Tembo’s side en route to the MTN8 final over two legs, while he lost 2-1 in the subsequent league fixture.

Celtic’s dismal form since their appearance in the MTN8 final is a worrying factor for the club’s management who are ready to wield the axe on their coach, who has managed just 2 wins from their last 12 matches.

The crew understands that Ditheko Mototo and Abram Nteo have been lined up to take over from Maduka, who was appointed as Celtic coach in June 2020.

Celtic currently sit in 12th place on the DStv Premiership standings, just five points adrift of the relegation zone.
