Celtic In Hot Water Over Ineligible Player?

Bloemfontein Celtic Could Be In Trouble Over Kabelo Dlamini

By Soccer Laduma - Apr 08, 2018 10:31 AM
Bloemfontein Celtic could potentially find themselves in hot water over one of their players, with Stars of Africa claiming that they never gave him his clearance.
Farouk Khan has confirmed that his academy has lodged a complaint with the South African Football Association over the eligibility of Kabelo Dlamini, also claiming that their attempts to get compensation for the 21-year-old’s development have been rebuffed by Siwelele.
In this week’s issue of Soccer Laduma, Khan expressed his disappointment in the matter, admitting that he wasn’t sure how the player was even registered with the league.
Speaking to the Siya crew, the former Chiefs coach said, “We’ve lodged a complaint with SAFA; we’re waiting for them to come back and tell us the way forward. He had an agreement in place with Stars, so he’s in breach in terms of not having his clearance and for not honouring his contract. To be honest, I don’t know how they even registered him.
“Running an academy is costly, so we need the money that comes in when a player goes on to make it professional. That’s why it hurts us when teams don’t follow the rules.”
The original article indicated that Dlamini had been registered to play in the SAB League for SoA, however, that was not the case, with the player having been registered two years ago before reportedly leaving without his clearance.
The crew sent an email to Celtic’s Public Relations and Media Officer, Sello Nduna, for comment on the matter, but received no response at the time of going to print.

Kabelo "Shuffle" Dlamini, I watched this player grow and happy that he's gone professional. Please Khan don't destroy this boy, just resolve this without affecting the boy's career.
