Striker AWOL At NFD Club
Black Leopards Striker Has Gone AWOL
A Black Leopards striker has gone AWOL, despite the Limpopo side struggling to pick up enough points in their NFD campaign.
Leopards have managed to win only two of their nine games so far this season and are 12th on the log. Mziwokuthula Zimu has decided to stop training with the team, as reported in edition 1047 of Soccer Laduma.
The 27-year-old has been absent from the club for more than two weeks. According to Siya sources, Zimu is in the middle of a contractual dispute with Lidoda Duvha.
“The player wants to leave the club. The club is not keen to part ways with him although he hasn’t been playing regularly. He is at home at the moment and training on his own. There are clubs from the PSL and NFD that are interested in him but he can’t do anything about that because he has a contract with Leopards,” said the source.
Zimu has requested to either be loaned out or sold by the Limpopo outfit, according to sources. Speaking to the Siya crew, Zimu confirmed he has been training on his own in the last few weeks.
“I am training on my own. I stopped training with the team because of the issues I am having with the club. I’m not fighting the club but there are issues that I need clarity on. I felt it would be better that I’m not there,” said Zimu.
