After being appointed as head coach of GladAfrica Championship side Bizana Pondo Chiefs, Clinton Larsen could complete his first signing.
Larsen had his first training session with Bizana on Tuesday, coming in as a replacement for Julius Dube who had come in for Tshepo Motsoeneng.
Motsoeneng parted ways with the Eastern Cape-based side towards the end of last year following a string of poor results.
Word reaching the Siya crew is that former SuperSport United and Bloemfontein Celtic striker Lerato Manzini is one of the players Larsen wants to have onboard to try to help the team avoid relegation.
Manzini was recently on trial with DStv Premiership club Black Leopards, but a deal with Lidoda Duvha did not materialise after he spent just a little over a week in Polokwane with the struggling top-flight club.
Larsen and Manzini have previously worked together at Bloemfontein Celtic, and know each other very well.
Bizana, who are rookies in the second tier, are currently bottom of the GladAfrica Championship standings, having collected 13 points after 15 matches. The club is likely hoping that Larsen will save them from relegation in order to build for next season.
