Interest Revived, Bucs & Chiefs Linked With Former Top Goalscorer
Big Guns Revitalise Their Interest In Striker
A former PSL top goalscorer has once again been linked with the two giants of South African football, Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs.
Moeketsi Sekola was first linked with the two powerhouses of Mzansi football, as well as a host of other clubs in the PSL, since he emerged as one of the most promising strikers in the PSL, after winning the Golden Boot for the 14 goals he scored with Free State Stars during the 2014/15 season.
Having left Ea Lla Koto for a stint with Chippa United during the first round of the 2017/18 season, Sekola joined Highlands Park for the second round of the campaign and has done well.
On his return to the Lions of the North, Sekola has been one of Owen da Gama’s most influential players in their promotion-winning campaign.
The 29-year-old netted six goals to help the Gauteng-based side gain automatic promotion from the NFD to the PSL, and according to Siya source in the know, Pirates and Chiefs have been impressed with the player’s work rate and fine performances.
“There is a lot of interest in Moeketsi Sekola now that he and his team have won promotion to the PSL. Pirates and Chiefs are some of the teams that have shown interest in the player once again,” said the source.
Sekola has another two years remaining on his deal with Highlands Park, as reported in edition 1071 of Soccer Laduma.
